About The Rottweilers
What We Do
We try to follow the FCI Rottweiler breed standard used by the ADRK in Germany. Except on most of our litters we will have tails docked and dew claws removed. Our rottweilers are owned and bred by us. Our dogs have certified hips at least by their country of origin or by the OFA, The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals here in America. We will not breed any of our dogs until they have the proper health clearances, and at least are the age of twenty four months. We are members of the United States Rottweiler Club. We show Rottweilers in mostly European or German style shows and are starting to get more involved with AKC events.
Who We Are
Our kennel is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our dogs have plenty of room to run. They are happy and definatley get plenty of excercise, love and socialization. Our dogs are raised around children, and interact on a regular basis with different people, in many new environments.
What We Believe
Whenever a puppy is purchased, we offer lifetime breeder support, and an extensive puppy package including a two year hip and health garantee on all show and breed quality puppies. We are proud to offer excellent working and show conformation Rottweilers who excel in just about everything from therapy work, search and rescue, tracking, hunting, obedience trials, agility trials, service dogs, herding, Schutzhund, protection, carting, weight pulling, competition dogs, and of course show dogs. The best thing about the Rottweiler is that they are awesome companion dogs. When looking for a Rottweiler dog for your family we highly recommend you only purchase from reputable breeders and know the lines you're buying. This can decrease potential problems with health and the temperment down the road.
About the Breed
I became interested in the breed about 15 years ago when I owned my first rottweiler. I learned that the breed was extremely loyal and very attentive, and easily trained because of their level about intellegence. According to the FCI Standard, the Rottweiler is good-natured, placid in basic disposition and fond of children, he is very devoted, obedient, biddable and eager to work. His appearance is natural and rustic, his behavior self assured, steady and fearless. He reacts to his surroundings with great alertness. My rottie enjoyed the same outdoor actvities as I did. I was a runner then, and I would always take the dog along. The rottweiler requires a lot of exercise and always something to keep him busy most of the time. Rottweilers are a powerful breed with well developed genetic herding and guarding instincts. As with any breed, potentially dangerous behavior in Rottweilers usually results from irresponsible ownership, abuse, neglect, or lack of socialization and training. Inherent breed characteristics are not a factor.
